Question Evolution’s Theory of origin of life…?
Alright... I have a question for some people who are more familiar with evolution than I am. Can you answer me this? I have heard and I can give MANY sources which explain that to the best of our knowledge the first organism was created by some kind of lightning bolt or something which fused together minerals or yadda yadda to form a cell. Now... this cell either needed to do one of two things: Photosynthesis or Chemosynthesis. Now, at this time, oxygen is not in place in the atmosphere, and the ozone layer is definitely non-existent (that much scientists know). So our little cell, if it photosynthesizes, will live in the epipelagic zone of the water where light penetrates. However, this presents a problem: UVA/UVB/UVC can penetrate beyond the epipelagic zone because of their shorter wavelength than visible light. This UV radiation, without the ozone layer, will denature EVERY … Continue reading

What would have happened if we’d believed the environmental activists’ “climate change” rhetoric in the 1970s?
The continued rapid cooling of the earth since WWII is in accord with the increase in global air pollution associated with industrialization, mechanization, urbanization and exploding population. -- Reid Bryson, "Global Ecology; Readings towards a rational strategy for Man", (1971) The battle to feed humanity is over. In the 1970s, the world will undergo famines. Hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now. Population control is the only answer -- Paul Ehrlich - The Population Bomb (1968) I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000 -- Paul Ehrlich in (1969) In ten years all important animal life in the sea will be extinct. Large areas of coastline will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish. -- Paul Ehrlich, Earth Day (1970) Before 1985, mankind will enter a genuine … Continue reading

If the recent cooling trend continues for 10 years, will the environmentalists claim they were right all along?

What would have happened if we’d adopted the agenda of these “global cooling” alarmists in the 1970s?

Whatever the scare du jour is in, say 2020, will its adherents deny that there was a global warming scare?
You know, the way the global warm-mongers insist that there wasn't a global cooling scare and that, if there was one, they weren't part of it? If only their words didn't do them in: The continued rapid cooling of the earth since WWII is in accord with the increase in global air pollution associated with industrialization, mechanization, urbanization and exploding population. -- Reid Bryson, "Global Ecology; Readings towards a rational strategy for Man", (1971) The battle to feed humanity is over. With predictions like these, why don’t more people believe in global warming?
“In ten years all important animal life in the sea will be extinct. Large areas of coastline will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish.” Paul Ehrlich, Earth Day 1970 “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make, … The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” Paul Ehrlich in an interview with Peter Collier in the April 1970 of the magazine Mademoiselle. “By…[1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.” Paul Ehrlich in special Earth Day (1970) issue of the magazine Ramparts. “The battle to feed humanity is over. In the … Continue reading

Should we believe the scare story du jour when the scare stories of a generation ago were so far off?
